FOR YEARS, I’VE WANTED TO DO IT BUT WITH KIDS, WORK, ALL OF THAT. FINALLY, I WAS LIKE YOU KNOW WHAT, LET’S JUST START. SO I’VE BEEN POWERLIFTING WITH TONY MASLAN. I’M PROBABLY NEVER GOING TO BE AS STRONG AS I AM RIGHT NOW. YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO HAVE A GOOD FOUNDATION OF MUSCLE BEFORE YOU GO INTO THIS. SO THAT’S WHAT I DID. Ange: WILL I’VE WATCHED YOU ON FACEBOOK.HERE YOU ARE IN TRAINING MODE. WHAT IS IT THAT GETS YOU IN THAT KIND OF SHAPE GET YOU READY FOR COMPETITION? YOU NEED TO BE FIT ALREADY. THEN I SIGNED UP WITH A COACH. FOR FIRST TIMERS, I WOULD ALWAYS RECOMMEND GET A COACH. GET SOMEBODY TO LEAD YOU. Ange: THAT’S AN EXPERT IN THAT PART OF THE FIELD. IT’S A VERY STRICT DIET. PEOPLE THINK YOU’RE STARVING YOURSELF AND YOUR NOT BE AT I WAS EATING SIX TIMES OF DAY. IT’S A MATTER OF WHAT AND WHEN YOU EAT. IS NOT A MATTER OF I’M NOT HUNGRY SO I WILL SKIP IT YOU HAVE TO EAT IT. Ange: OR YOU ARE WITH YOUR FAMILY. WHAT KINDS OF THINGS DO YOU EAT? FOR EXAMPLE, IN THE MORNING I WOULD EAT OATMEAL AND EGGS. I TRIED TO GET CREATIVE WITH IT AND EVENTUALLY I WAS JUST LIKE, A BOWL OF OATMEAL AND SCRAMBLE EGGS AND JUST DUMP IT ALL TOGETHER AND JUST EAT IT. IT BECOMES YOUR FUEL. YOU’VE GOT TO CHANGE HER MIND SET A LITTLE BIT. A LOT OF PROTEIN, FISH, CHICKEN, TURKEY. A LOT OF FOOD PREP. MY HUSBAND AND I, HE WAS GREAT. HE’D GO SHOPPING WITH ME AND WE’D SPEND SUNDAYS IS PREPPING FOOD. FISH, CHICKEN, TURKEY FOR THE WEEK. I DID. MEALS FOR MYSELF. BROUGHT THE WHOLE FAMILY ON BOARD REALLY. IT WAS PRETTY NEAT. Ange: IT’S GOT TO MAKE IT BETTER WHEN EVERYONE’S ON YOUR TEAM. RATHER THAN EVERYBODY OVER HERE IS EATING PIZZA AND YOU ARE HERE WITH YOUR PIECE OF FISH. THAT HAPPENED AT TIMES. Ange: IT’S A REALITY. HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU? YOU’VE BEEN A YOGA INSTRUCTOR FOREVER. WHEN DID YOU START AND WHEN DID YOU GET THERE? I STARTED 12 WEEKS OUT. WE WOULD KEEP TRACK OF THINGS. YOUR BODY FAT PERCENTAGES BIT IF IT NEEDED TO BE ADJUSTED, WE DO JUST A LITTLE BIT.I WAS THE PERFECT STUDENT I WAS TOLD AND THAT THINGS JUST PROGRESSED NICELY. YOU’VE GOT TO BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF AND YOUR COACH. BECAUSE IF YOU’RE TRYING TO HIT CERTAIN NUMBERS, THERE’S NO HIDING. YOU CAN SNEAK A CANDY BAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. Ange: I LOVE THAT PICTURE OF YOU FINALLY EATING A SNICKERS. IS THAT YOU AFTER THE COMPETITION? IT’S A LITTLE SNICKERS. ARE YOU GOING TO DO ANOTHER COMPETITION? I’M GOING TO DO A POWERLIFTING COMPETITION IN NOVEMBER. IT’S JUST FOR FUN. I LOVE DOING THIS. I’M NOT GOING TO TURN PROFESSIONAL OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. IT JUST KEEPS ME IN SHAPE, GIVES NICHOLS TO HITS. THEN I’D LIKE TO DO ANOTHER BUILDING COMPETITION IN MAINE. Ange: MY HATS OFF TO YOU. I JUST WANTED TO CELEBRATE YOU ON THE SHOW AND ALL YOUR HARD WORK. TAKING OUT THE BIKINI HAD TO BE A CHALLENGE. THAT WAS LIKE A FIREHOSE. THERE ARE SO MANY OPTIONS, IT’S RIDICULOUS.
